Co-op Wholesale’s registered charity, Making a Difference Locally (MADL), is celebrating a landmark achievement after raising an incredible £20 million for local charities, community groups and good causes across the UK.
Since launching in 2008, MADL has worked with Co-op Wholesale partner stores across the UK to raise funds for retailers’ chosen local charities or community initiatives, with over 25,000 donations.Â
More than 11,000 community groups, projects and small charities have been supported across a wide range of projects, including those focused on:Â
•   Mental wellbeingÂ
•   LGBTQ+ and inclusionÂ
•   Sport and social activitiesÂ
•   Strengthened communitiesÂ
•   Food povertyÂ
•   Health and social careÂ
The milestone marks more than 18 years of community fundraising and highlights the power of independent retailers and their customers working together to make a meaningful difference in the communities they serve. Â
