Co-op Wholesale spreads Easter joy with community chocolate donations
Co-op Wholesale is helping to spread joy this Easter, donating nearly 600 chocolate eggs, bunnies and Easter hunt packs to good causes chosen by its retail partners.
The donations, made through Co-op’s long-standing charity Making a Difference Locally (MADL), will support ten community groups across the UK, helping to bring smiles to families and children who may be experiencing challenging circumstances.
Retailers were selected based on their strong community focus, alongside their chosen causes being best suited to Easter-themed donations, helping the gifts reach those who will value them most.
Community groups receiving an Easter donation, alongside their supporting retailer, include:
- Cloc a Chrefft – Craft and a Chat (Tymawr Filling Station)
- Bridgewater foodbank (Gwilliams of Edington)
- More than Men (Dallam Stores)
- Abbas and Templecombe Aid (Dike & Son)
- Senses (Proudfoot Group)
- Caldecote Warm Hub (Highland Group)
- Airedale Food Bank and Baby and Children’s Bank (NP Group)
- Fit Mums (Sewell)
- Making Connections on the Broads (Roys)
- Hilldrop Community Centre (LA Foods)
Kate Carroll, Social Value Lead at Co-op Wholesale said: “We’re delighted to be playing the role of Easter bunny for ten of our retailers and their communities this year. By donating Easter treats to these fantastic local organisations, we’re helping to spread a little joy to families and children who may need it most.
Through Making a Difference Locally, our retailers can support causes that truly matter to their communities and initiatives like this show the positive impact we can make together.”
Adam Vincent, Director at Dike and Son said: “Thanks to the generous support from Co-op, Nisa, and Madl, these egg donations have really cracked open an opportunity to give back.
At Dike and Son Ltd, it means a lot to be able to shell out some kindness and support Abbas and Templecombe Aid - especially at this time of year. It’s been egg-stra special to see the community come together, and we’re proud to play a small part in helping others have a hoppy Easter.”
Co-op Wholesale’s charity, Making a Difference Locally (MADL), enables retailers to raise funds through the sale of Co-op own-brand products, with proceeds supporting local causes chosen by them.
Making a Difference Locally (MADL) remains on track to reach £20 million in donations this year and continues to be a key differentiator for retailers looking to support their local community and make a meaningful impact.

Notes to editor
Making a Difference Locally (MADL) is Co-op Wholesale's charity. Every Co-op own-brand product purchased through Co-op Wholesale includes an in-built donation to MADL. Additional funds can also be raised via in-store collecting tins and clothing banks. Independent retailers can donate these funds to a local charity or good cause of their choice within a 10-mile radius, ensuring the money raised benefits their local community. Since 2008, MADL has raised over £19 million for good causes across the UK.
